In the days of old, when the world was still young and the heavens and earth were newly forged, a great war of cosmic proportions erupted between the gods and demons, shaping the destiny of a fledgling realm. This is the legend of the world's creation and the cataclysmic conflict that ensued seven centuries ago.

Long before mortals roamed the lands, the gods and demons ruled over separate domains. The gods, emanations of pure light and goodness, resided in the celestial realm of Elysium, while the demons, embodiments of darkness and chaos, dwelled in the fiery abyss known as the Netherrealms. These two opposing forces coexisted uneasily, wary of each other's power and influence.

Yet, harmony was shattered when a great upheaval occurred within the Netherrealms. The demon lord, Vargoth, sought to expand his dominion and plunge the world into eternal darkness. Enraged by his audacity, the gods marshaled their divine legions, led by their mightiest champions, to stand against the encroaching demonic threat.

The heavens thundered as gods and demons clashed in a tumultuous conflict that spanned the cosmos. The skies ignited with celestial fires, and the earth quaked beneath the fury of their battles. The forces of light fought with valor and wisdom, wielding their divine powers to shield the mortal realms from the abyssal onslaught.

The war waged on for years, the tide of victory ebbing and flowing between the gods and demons. Each side unleashed their formidable magic, summoned awe-inspiring creatures, and wrought devastation upon the world. The mortal races trembled, caught in the midst of this cataclysm, as their cities crumbled and their lands were ravaged by the collateral destruction.

But within the turmoil, a glimmer of hope emerged. Among the mortals, a fellowship of champions arose, guided by a prophecy of ancient origin. These chosen heroes, known as the Ascendants, were imbued with a fragment of divine essence, granting them extraordinary powers. United in purpose, the Ascendants vowed to assist the gods in their righteous cause and vanquish the demonic menace.

The Ascendants fought alongside the gods, their strength and determination turning the tide of the war. With their aid, the divine forces pushed deeper into the Netherrealms, finally confronting Vargoth in a climactic battle. A tempest of divine and demonic energies engulfed the battlefield as the Ascendants engaged the demon lord, while the gods clashed with his loyal lieutenants.

World Creation

Millenia ago, as the universe formed and the raw energy of creation began forming the material plane and Velandor. Life thrived and evolved in relative peace and across Velandor nine rulers emerge looking after their own domains. These nine rulers came together and formed a council to rule and encourage growth across Velandor working collaboratively in the worlds best interests.

In the 27th year of this council the world itself was struck by a meteor which was brought before the council for inspection as they discussed the threat of this happening again. During their discussions and planning a reaction from the meteor was triggered and each of the members of the council took on a portion of the meteor's power. They discovered that the meteor was a mass of raw creation remaining from the formation of the world. The council members had now been infused with the divine power of creation and became the first pantheon of gods in Velandor.
