Campaign Opening description

Welcome to Velandor, a world of myth and mystery. A continent surrounded by water, divided by the Dunat Mountains. The Northern region of Velandor full of the forest of Abnoba, the Daghdalian Wetlands and rolling flat planes made this perfect for farming and where the capital resides. The southern region colder, and home the mountainous region known as the Therassil Peaks, the flat planes of the Shimmering Run and the Ambient Coast.

It is the year 1290. 1290 years since the formation of The Council which united lineages across Velandor.

A simple world, only recently rebuilt after the second Great War. Gods, which once roamed the plane locked themselves out to protect the world from great evil over 500 years ago. And more recently, a second war erupted as those who sought power attempted to take it. This resulted in a new era for Velandor, united under the Montville Family who, fought for freedom, for peace and to protect those less fortunate found themselves the head of a unified force finally bringing peace and stability across the land.

The Setting

Our adventure starts at the very heart of Velandor in the capital city of Danu. A bustling city in a time of relative peace under the rule of the Montvilles. We find ourselves mid-afternoon on a cloudless balmy summer’s day. The main stalls at the market are packing up for the day, a shade earlier than normal to allow time for the square to be set up for tonight's festivities. A celebration after the birth of the princess Tariel Montville.

Cat - Upon explanation of the rot and decay at the forest. A simple mixture is needed however there is a key ingredient which is going to be exceptionally difficult to locate - the caustic sap of a Sandbox Tree. Such trees are exceptionally rare and one hasn't been known for almost a century. They are however recognisable when seen. Growing to approx. 130ft tall, the bark is covered in thousands of tiny dark spines which extend over the trunk and branches. The fruit look like small pumpkins, but beware when ripe they explode sending their seed in all directions at great speed. There have been known to be injuries and even death.


Combat

1 Bandit Captain - Everard - broad-shouldered man with olive skin, long, loose dark hair and suspicious, glancing eyes. Secretly fearful of repeating a mistake made during a raid long ago.

1 or 2 Bandits (f Cat joins the 2nd bandit waits outside to block the door) -Wendell and Rochanna - Wendell will be stood outside.
